Youbethevc.com, started by Bang Ventures and coded by Lunar Logic Polska, has moved into the final round. The first cut yielded 100 semi finalists who were whittled down to twenty finalists by a panel of celebrity judges including Marissa Mayer of Google fame, Leah Culver of Pounce, Curt Schilling of the Boston Red Socks, and other leaders in their fields. Now the public gets to watch the elevator pitches and decide which three entrepreeures get their ideas funded and launched. You have to register to vote and the pitches are at http://youbethevc.com/finalists
Apple picked up the PicoWiki site. Cool. I love wikis! And I love the iPhone! Two great tastes that taste great together.

I just launched PicoWiki, a simple hosted wiki for users of smartphones, including the iPhone, iPod Touch and Blackberry. It’s pretty simple, but that’s what you want with a phone. I started using it for all my notes. I can edit them in any browser so I do most of my editing at the computer, but I love the fact that I can access and edit the wiki from my iPhone or my Blackberry (yes, I am a gadget-freak and I have both).
I use it for all my notes, my diary, and for GTD. My project lists with next actions and inbox are pages of the wiki.
The site is at http://www.picowiki.com
It’s currently supported manually and the service is donationware.
(note: I automated account creation today, so it’s no longer manually managed. Whew!)
The simple to use and administer open source time tracking system by Lunar Logic Polska has seen a significant update in its reporting features for administrators and product owners. Version 2.1 adds RSS feeds, a calendar view of team activities, and a much improved client reporting site.
This tool was designed for flexibility and simplicity for time tracking and billing by any team that charges by the hour.
The daily build is available by svn from: http://rubytime.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/
The recent stable build may be downloaded from: http://code.google.com/p/rubytime/downloads/
We know that design is not our strength, and would heartily welcome any web application designers who would like to join the project.
I’ll be one of the keynote speakers at the SQAM conference in Warsaw next week. I’ll be expanding on my earlier presentations on selling agile, internally and to clients and the different ways of crafting agile contracts.

I’ve gotten a flood of requests to resume the Agile Activist podcast, and so I am recording my next podcast next week. A friend and client, Robert Dempsey, founder of Rails for All and soon-to-be podcaster himself, decided to kick start both our podcasts with an exchange of interviews. Look for it next week on my podcast page or in iTunes.
Last month we released a Google widget which has rapidly grown to become one of the most popular widgets in Poland. It’s rather exciting watching the number of users grow.
